Corrections policy

Chautauqua Local is an editorial directory. Every listing has a real person checking it. Mistakes still happen — out-of-date hours, wrong phone numbers, businesses that have closed. When you flag one, here's what we do:

Within 48 hours

• We verify the change against at least two sources — the business's website, Google Business Profile, or a phone call to the business directly.
• We update the listing on chautauqualocal.com and update the last verified stamp.
• If the business has closed, we move the listing to inactive (it stops appearing in search results) and add a note.

Sources we trust

1. The owner directly (claimed listings)
2. The business's own website
3. Their verified Google Business Profile
4. A phone call answered by the business

What we won't do

• Take down a listing on the basis of a single anonymous report, unless the report is supported by external evidence.
• Change ratings or reviews based on owner request — reviews are moderated for accuracy, not for tone.
• Sell or share reporter contact information.
